I read it in the tabloids

A German pensioner has been dubbed "the man with the bottomless stomach", because he consumes 12,000 calories a day without putting on a pound. Doctors are at a loss to explain Heinz Asthoff's insatiable hunger, which was triggered by his wife's death 22 years ago. "Something's got to give," say Heinz. "Last time I went to the pub I ordered potato pancakes and ended up eating 100 of them. I can't afford it."

Heinz Asthoff - I think there's more distance in this with a name like that.

I thought you'd say that! It is, and I like the German potato pancakes with apple sauce, but 100 may be more than I could do!

He'd be well worth studying to see what's going on with him, his metabolism must be very high, and the chemical/hormonal control over that could be of great interest to diet product manufacturers. Weird though, physics doesn't work like that!

Well worth studying I'd have thought. It could provide a better understanding of hormones' effects on the body and the link with the emotional state, leading to all sorts of treatments for many different afflictions.
